“Mask Off”

Joey Bada$$ blasts off. After unveiling the All-Amerikkkan Bada
$$ tracklisting, Badmon unleashes a rapid-fire freestyle on Los Angeles’ Power 106.

Joey floats over Future’s “Mask Off” instrumental and changes it to “Blast Off,” while bragging about his boundary-breaking skills. “Radios be lackin’ though,” he raps. “You can’t front on talent, so / I’ma kill like every show, and any foe, with any flow.”

Later, he adds a reference to the future over the Future beat. “Listen, I’m twisting the system and missing the recognition,” he adds. “But I see the future clearly, my premonitions is scary.”

What is clear about the future is that Joey is planning to drop
his All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ LP next month, with guest appearances from J. Cole, ScHoolboy Q, and Styles P, among others.

Last year, Joey spoke about his next album’s mission. “I think there’s been something going on in America,” he said. “Especially against the young black youth, the oppressed people of this country. So I think the young generation needs a voice. I do believe I am that voice.”

All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ is due April 7.
